Weekly Vocabulary Plan

Monday: Introduce New Words with Examples and Non-Examples

• Students will add definitions as well as two synonyms and two antonyms to vocabulary journals

Tuesday: Sentences

• Students will add sentences  to vocabulary journals

Wednesday: Wow Words

• Students will record the weekly WOW word in vocabulary journals--this examines prefix, root word and/or suffix. They will complete a Google Classroom assignment as well.

Thursday: Picture Dictionary

• Students will create drawings which depict the meaning of each vocabulary word

Friday:  Vocab Fun Day and Assessment (every other week)

• Students will play a fun vocabulary game or have a vocabulary social
• Every two weeks, students will take a vocabulary assessment
