I graduated from Marietta College and began teaching in 1996 at Newport Central Catholic High School.  In 2002 I received a Master's in Educational Administration from Xavier University.  In 2003 I became Assistant Principal at Newport Central Catholic.  While assistant principal I continued to teach Chemistry and Chemistry 2.  In December of 2008 I earned my Principal's Certificate from Xavier University.  In 2009 I went back to the classroom as a full time chemistry teacher at Randall K Cooper High School in Union, Kentucky.

My husband, Chris, works for Sensus as Vice President of Gas Sales.  My children, Natalie (23) lives in Brooklyn and works at New York City Center in Manhattan and Eli (20) attends Appalachian State University where he is a junior.

We moved to WF in 2011 and I made the decision to stay home for a year to help the family get adjusted to our new location and school calendar.  I ended up staying home for 3 years total!  In that 3 years: I took up running and have since run a several half marathons and two full marathons, I have learned how to knit and crochet and I have sold my items at the Wake Forest Farmer's Market and Craft Fairs, as well as on Etsy and I have spent many hours volunteering in my children's classrooms.  Being in the schools as a volunteer was an awesome experience but it also made me miss teaching.  I decided to seek certification in Elementary Education and that certification brought me to Wake County Public Schools, where I taught 3rd grade for 7 years. This is my first year in 4th grade and my 23rd year of teaching.
