EL Homework Requirements for 2nd Quarter.

  • Students are expected to read for 30 minutes each night.
    • This should include their fluency passages for the week. (this takes about 5 minutes)
  • Click here for the resources for EL homework for Module 2, Unit 2.  This information is also in your child's binder.  
  • Due dates are listed behind the 2nd tab in the binder.  
    • Some days there are multiple things assigned (they are designated by a 1, 2 or 3).  They will each have a different due date.  Please reference the date that is listed and the agenda/calendar pages (where it should also be written).  
  • Assignment Details
    • Students should use a book from home or online resources about frogs for the first set of ARRs and choice reading for the second set.  Visit the Links page to get to Big Universe.
    • They will complete these on the booklet that I gave them.
    • These will all be due on 12/14 for the first set and 12/21 for the second set.Below applies to Unit 1
    • Students should answer one of these prompts about the story we are reading in class "Why the frog has a long tongue".  The main character is Kikker.  This story is also listed in the ALL Task Card workbook that is in the pocket of their binder.
    • They will complete these on notebook paper.
    • ARR- the prompts are located behind the 3rd divider tab on the back of page 1 (Independent reading).  The student should pick one of the prompts listed for each day that an ARR is assigned and answer that question.
    • NQW-Narrative Quick Write-the prompts for this are listed in the same section as the ARR.  The NQW prompts are on the back of the second page in the 3rd divider section.  
    • Vocabulary- directions are listed on the front of the 2nd page in the same section.  Students will complete these on the Vocabulary pages in the last section of their binder.
